William Carney, M.D. is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with 20 plus years experience in private practice. In addition to general orthopedics, he also specializes in knee and shoulder surgery, and sports related injuries.
Dr. Carney obtained a degree in engineering at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and then went on to medical school at Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, D.C. Dr. Carney completed his orthopedic residency at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. After residency, he completed an extra year of training in sports medicine at the Graduate Hospital, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Carney’s philosophy is to give his patients as much time and attention as they need and is dedicated to providing high quality compassionate care.
Dr. Carney has served as the official head team physician for the William Paterson University athletic teams for the past 20 years.
Dr. Carney is affiliated with Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey; St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey; and Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Dr. Carney has developed his practice and raised his family in Bergen County over the past 20 plus years.
